I don't recall ever wanting a winter to end as much as I do this one. It's been so long, cold, dark and wet that I actually forgot planting my first ever bulbs in the early days of autumn. So with two days to go until the start of spring I got a beautiful reminder when Mrs Custard spotted this tulip growing amongst the weeds.
I never saw the point in growing things that you couldn't eat before but I think I may have just changed my mind. So, for anyone else in southern Australia who is sick of scarves, eating indoors and getting home in the dark here's a little bit of hope that something else is just around the corner...
